Disclaimer & IP Notice.

Random Pick Verse is an independent, unofficial fan tool. This page explains our relationship to third-party brands, how we use trademarks under fair use, and how rights holders can contact us.
Unofficial fan tool — no affiliation
Random Pick Verse is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or connected to the National Basketball Association (NBA), National Football League (NFL), Major League Baseball (MLB), any of their teams, ESPN Inc., or any other league or broadcaster. All team names, abbreviations, and related marks are used solely to identify the teams you may pick.
1. Trademark notice
NBA, NFL, MLB, and all team names, logos, wordmarks, and uniform designs are registered trademarks and/or copyrights of their respective owners:
- NBA — National Basketball Association and its 30 member teams;
- NFL — National Football League and its 32 member teams;
- MLB — Major League Baseball and its 30 member teams;
- ESPN — ESPN Inc. (logo CDN host);
- All other league, team, and product names are trademarks of their respective holders.
Use of these marks here does not imply any affiliation or endorsement. All rights remain with their owners.
2. Why we show team names & logos — nominative fair use
Our sports pickers let you filter and randomly pick real-world teams. To do that accurately we must refer to teams by their real names and, where helpful, show their logos for identification — this is nominative fair use under U.S. trademark law and fair use under 17 U.S.C. § 107 (copyright).
- No more of the mark is used than necessary to identify the team;
- We do not suggest sponsorship or endorsement;
- The use is non-commercial, informational, and transformative (random selection, filtering, wheel visualization);
- We do not sell merchandise or tickets and do not compete with the leagues’ core offerings.
We claim no ownership over team names, logos, or league marks. If you are a rights holder and prefer a different treatment, please see the DMCA section below — we respond quickly.
3. Logo sources & attribution
Logos are not hosted by us. They are hotlinked at display time from public CDNs for identification only:
- NBA — https://raw.githubusercontent.com/gtkacz/nba-logo-api/main/icons/*.svg (community API mirroring official marks)
- NFL — https://a.espncdn.com/i/teamlogos/nfl/500/*.png (ESPN CDN)
- MLB — https://a.espncdn.com/i/teamlogos/mlb/500/*.png (ESPN CDN)
All logo copyrights remain with the leagues/teams. If you control these assets and want us to change sourcing, replace, or remove a logo, contact us and we will act expeditiously. We can also switch to text-only or locally-licensed alternatives on request.
We do not modify logos except for proportional scaling for the wheel and list display. No logo is used as our own branding.
4. No endorsement & no affiliation with CDN hosts
Hotlinking does not create any relationship with ESPN or GitHub. ESPN, GitHub, and the logo API maintainer are not sponsors or partners. Their trademarks belong to them.
5. Accuracy, entertainment & external links
Team lists are maintained as of the 2026-08 season snapshot and are updated on a best-effort basis. Rosters, divisions, and leagues can change — inform us of errors and we’ll correct them. Picks are random and for entertainment, education, and decision-support only. Outcomes are not predictions or betting advice.
The Service may link to external sites. We are not responsible for external content or practices. Any external link is provided for convenience only.
6. DMCA / copyright & trademark takedown — how to report
We respect intellectual property and comply with the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512) and analogous trademark complaint procedures.
If you are a rights holder (or authorized agent) and believe content on Random Pick Verse infringes your copyright or trademark, contact us via:
Contact Us — DMCA / Trademark Notice or email hello@randompickverse.com
Please include:
- Your full legal name, company/affiliation, mailing address, phone, and email;
- Identification of the copyrighted/trademarked work (e.g., “Los Angeles Lakers logo, U.S. Reg. No. …” or URL to the original);
- Identification of the allegedly infringing material on our site (exact URL: e.g., https://randompickverse.com/sports/nba-team-picker and team name / logo position);
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized by the owner, its agent, or the law;
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and you are the owner or authorized to act on the owner’s behalf;
- Your physical or electronic signature.
What happens next: We review expeditiously, and where appropriate remove or disable access, replace with text-only identifiers, or add additional attribution. We will notify you of the action taken. Repeat or bad-faith notices may be disregarded. For trademark-only concerns (no copyright), include registration numbers and likelihood-of-confusion explanation; we treat them with the same urgency.
Note: Under §512(f), misrepresentations in a takedown notice can create liability. If you are unsure, seek legal counsel before filing.
7. Counter-notification
If you believe material was removed due to mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notification via our Contact form (subject “DMCA / Trademark Notice”) with: (a) identification of removed material and its prior location, (b) a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the removal was mistaken, (c) your consent to jurisdiction, and (d) your signature. We will forward it to the complainant and may restore content as permitted by law.
8. Our own copyright
The Service’s original code, design system (ink-on-white, mesh gradients, stacked shadows), copy, and wheel physics are © 2026 Random Pick Verse. All rights reserved. You may not reproduce our design or code beyond fair-use quotation without permission. Team marks remain with their owners.
9. Changes
We may update this notice as leagues, sources, or laws change. The “Last updated” date reflects the current version. Continued use after updates constitutes acceptance.
